We fund biomedical research into ME to create a strategy for cure/treatment

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My Mum developed ME in January 2015, initially sofa/bed bound and then housebound for most of the following year.  Having to give up her job and all of her social activities, it has stopped her doing most things in her life and now, despite improvement, often the smallest tasks can leave her exhausted. It is an isolating and severely life changing illness. Two years later, with very little understanding and no cure available, I thought I could do something to help.

Invest in ME is directly funding biomedical research into the causes and treatments of ME. Hopefully, by walking Hadrian's Wall and by running this half marathon I can raise awareness and money for a worthwhile cause and make a difference.

[Sadly, after my trek across Hadrian's Wall and am suffering from Achilles' Tendonitis. Doctor said I need at least three weeks rest and then steady recovery. I won't be able to take part in the GreatEastRun and will run in February, hopefully at the Hampton Court 1/2, instead.]
