Story
Over the last number of years Cathy and I have had the privilege to get to know Barry & Margaret Mizen and their lovely family. Barry & Margaret's 16 year old son Jimmy was murdered at a bakery in his local High Street in South East London in 2008 in an unprovoked attack. Since then the family have been involved in some amazing work through the charity For Jimmy to promote peace and reconciliation, running programmes in schools and providing safe spaces within the local community for young people who may feel at risk.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of Jimmy's death and to show our support for the work of For Jimmy we are taking part in the 21 Bridges Challenge on Saturday 26 May 2018 walking 21 of London's bridges from Richmond to Tower Bridge. The walk is about 22 miles and will also act as a further milestone after my lung surgery in January.
