I am running this years Liverpool Marathon, my first, for a charity which is devoted to giving those who are less fortunate, opportunity to make lasting changes to improve their lives. Addaction supports people, families and the local community with drug and alcohol addiction as well as mental health problems. As an employee of the charity, I am overwhelmed by the compassion of colleagues who share the same desire to reach out to people is distress, without question or judgement. Addiction is devastating for individuals and families, while more often their real stories and depth of struggles are unheard. Charities like Addaction go to extraordinary lengths to commit to helping people find meaning in their lives in the way of recovery.
