Story
First and foremost let me say this: I really don't want to have to run a marathon!
Despite looking fairly "in shape" on the surface, my physique could be regarded as a front, covering up a severe lack of cardiovascular stamina / performance. Running is something I simply do not enjoy and have never really done since cross country in year 9 PE!
However, somehow the stars have aligned and I'm running the Brighton Marathon on 15th April 2018 (thanks Adam Jay).
My palms were sweating as I booked myself a place a couple of weeks ago. But now, since having time to digest the fact that i'm definitely doing this, I can see a lot of positives:
1. I will get properly fit and kick my lingering "social" smoking habit
2. I will accomplish something pretty epic - running 26.2 miles and all that
and most importantly....
3. I will get to raise a load of money for Diabetes UK!
My best mate Ant suffers from Diabetes and I'd love to see a cure, or at least some new technology to ease the burden for him and all others affected. I'd really like to help make an impact by running the Brighton marathon and raising as much as possible for Diabetes UK. Thanks for any and all donations you can give to help support my ambition.
