We are the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) and we're leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.

Story

Thank you, it means a lot that you're donating for James towards a charity that we feel is making a difference to many peoples lives. There's more information below on the charity and what they do.

We'll be looking to arrange further get-togethers in the future to come together to celebrate James' life and raise awareness and support through CALM. More details on those to come.

We knew James was loved, but the outpouring of love for him from so many people has been quite something.

Your love and support for James means so much to us,

Steve, Laura, Andy and Franny

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. 125 lives are lost every week to suicide. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. We exist to change this.

We do it by provoking conversation, running life-saving services, and bringing people together so they reject living miserably, get help when they need it and don’t die by suicide.

“CALM reaches people in an accessible way by communicating through cultural channels like sport, music, comedy and fashion. We've found this non-clinical approach lowers the barrier to what is traditionally regarded as a difficult subject to engage in. As an issue, suicide affects everyone and we all have a role to play in making positive change across society.” - Simon Gunning, CALM CEO.
