Story
I started running in 2015 as a mate talked me into entering the Bath half Marathon with a group of friends. I had never run further than a sprint to catch the bus or a dash to the pub to get last orders, so the challenge was immense.
The first few runs were gruelling but with a lot of help from everyone who was taking part egging each other on we trained to a dedicated schedule and I realised how much I enjoyed running.
Over the course of the next 7 years, I've entered numerous events all over the country and have really enjoyed the challenge. The furthest I've run is 25km in a half marathon in the Brecon's that I can only assume I got a bit lost in, so running 42km will be testing.
I'm extremely grateful to the charity Jessie May who offered the chance to run the London Marathon for them and to raise money for such an important cause.
Jessie May provides at home nursing and respite care for children and young people that have a terminal or life-limiting condition throughout the South West.
They have been providing free specialist at home support since 1996, and it is only through the generosity of their supporters that they can continue to be there for families for many years to come.
It will be the biggest challenge of my life and I am 100% dedicated to training and taking part on the 23rd April 2023
