Story

STORY UPDATE: MARCH 2022

It's time to renew the fight against cancer. The story began in 2019, fundraising started with a view to running London 2019.........then COVID hit and the rest is history. 2019 became 2020 became 2021 but a broken arm put paid to that so, finally, October 2022.

1 in every 2 people will get some form of cancer in their lifetime. Most people can relate with a personal story of their own. Family, friends. Cancer is indiscriminate. It causes heartbreak and reveals heroes.

The research done by Cancer Research UK is helping to save lives, aiming for a day when all cancers are cured. In the 1970's, less than a quarter of people with cancer survived beyond 10 years. Today, the survival number has doubled - today half those diagnosed will survive beyond 10 years. CRUK's ambition is to accelerate progress and see three-quarters of people surviving the disease within the next 20 years.

Thank you for your support and for helping to beat cancer sooner.

James.
