Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have finally made the decision to run the Great Manchester Run on Sunday 16th May 2010.
The reason I have finally decided to dust down the old running trainers is in aid of Kidney Research UK.
For those who know me and for those you don't Kidney Research is very close to my heart. Around 4 years ago I was diagnosed with only have one kidney which turned out to be hereditary. So any money raised for the charity will in the end benefit me and thousands of others.
One of the main reasons for doing another gruelling run is my dad. Unfortunately and to much sadness my dad passed away 5 years ago mainly due to kidney disease and the problems that are associated with it. He was born with only one kidney which was small and not functioning properly. This was diagnosed well into his thirties and the medicine that is avaliable now was not back then and it was an uphill struggle from there. I have always wanted to do something positive in light of my dad passing away and I see this run as my first hurdle!
So I have to raise a minimum of £200 and intend to do so with ease. Therefore even if its a quid or a tenner please dig deep and help raise money for this worthy cause.
Any questions or tips you may have for me please do not hesitate contacting me james.stockton@atlasproducts.com
Cheers
James
UPDATE
Good Morning,
I just wanted to say another big thank you for sponsoring me again for the Great Manchester Run.
It was positve from the start and was looking on to be a good time with the first 5k being done in 25mins however the lack of training and the 90 minute football game the day before and the blisters took theIR toll.
In the end I finished in 1 hour 2 mins which is not brilliant but not bad considering.
Thank you again.
James
