Story

Hi everyone.

This year I've decided to run the Sheffield Half Marathon in support of St Luke's Hospice, where my incredibly wonderful, brave and stoic Father now resides.

He's been in and out of hospital regularly over the last year, battling Multiple Myelomas including Amyloidosis, which has unfortunately left him with failing kidneys and paralysis in his legs from a weakened spine. It's been a very emotional journey for us all, but we have never been able to fault the amazing love, care and kindness shown to him by all doctors and nursing staff, wherever he's been, in particular The Royal Hallamshire and Western Park.

This of course now includes the amazing team at St Luke's, he is truly in the best possible hands now to help him make the most of whatever precious time he has left.

Your sponsorship will help them in their mission to deliver the best possible care to other people of Sheffield who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.Their skilled and dedicated team care for 1,800 adult patients a year - all free of charge. Their total running costs are £11.5million and this year, they need to raise £7.5million. Please help to support St Luke's by sponsoring me, and if you are local to Sheffield, please feel free to come and cheer me along!

Thank you for your support,

James X
