Story
Millions of Ukrainians have fallen victim to the current Russian invasion, leaving them cold, hungry and homeless.
They need our help!
Next weekend (17th - 20th March), we're driving 1,200 miles to Przemysl in Poland, near the Ukrainian border to deliver 400 much needed sleeping bags to help some of the thousands of refugees arriving there daily. We're taking just sleeping bags - no sorting required by those we're working with in Przemysl, quickly dispensable and desperately needed. Our thanks go to Mountain Warehouse who have been hugely generous in donating them to our cause. UPDATE! WE’VE BEEN ASKED TO TAKE 120 MEDICAL KITS WHICH NEED TO FIND A ROUTE TO POLAND AND SO WE’VE HIRED ANOTHER VAN AND OUR FRIENDS JUSTIN PACKSHAW MBE AND HIS WIFE TAMSIN DE ROEMER HAVE KINDLY AGREED TO ACCOMPANY US ON OUR TRIP!
We're aware that in-kind, immediate help like this only goes so far and the longer term needs of refugees, who pass quickly through an entry point, are met both by the kindness of communities who provide homes for the longer term and through the relief aid co-ordinated by humanitarian organisations. So we're also raising as much money as we can to support the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal run by The British Red Cross.
We really hope our personal efforts in making this journey, however small its immediate impact, will encourage friends, colleagues and contacts to dig deep and donate for longer term help of the Ukrainian people dispossessed as a result of this atrocious war.
Also, for anyone leaving Ukraine who needs practical and legal guidance on how to enter other European countries, or anyone who can pass this on to those who need support at this time, we're sharing this helpful link from James' firm.
