Event: LWC Sahara Desert Trek 2023, on 23 February 2023
A team of adventurous LWC parents and Sternians are set to trek over 30km across the Sahara as part of our Centenary celebrations, raising funds for the Lord Wandsworth Foundation. A tough challenge in the heat and ever-changing desert landscape.

Story

Lord Wandsworth College is about to celebrate it's first 100 years! Old boys and LWC parents are getting ready to trek across the Sahara Desert to help raise vital funds for the Lord Wandsworth Foundation. As a Governor of the College I have also taken up this challenge and really hope you will support me.The LWC Foundation supports 50 children who have lost the support of one or both parents, generally through a bereavement, ensuring they can benefit from a transformational education in a safe, supportive boarding-school environment where they can thrive and reach their potential. If you are able to support me by contributing something towards this worthy cause then I would be very grateful. We are setting out on 23 February when the day temperature should just about be tolerable but it will fall to minus 4 degrees at night so quite a range!  Walking through the desert accompanied by 4 camels will be an interesting experience so wish me luck!
