Story
I'm running in this year's Hackney Half Marathon to raise money for Cancer Research UK. The chances are, unfortunately, that we will all be affected by cancer at some point in our lives - whether directly or indirectly. I lost a dear friend to a brain tumour last year and I'm doing this in his memory.
Also, I spent four of the best years of my life in Hackney and I thought this would be a great way to experience my old haunts (tired, thirsty and hurting all over).
I'd be so grateful if you felt able to donate even a small amount. Cancer Research UK do great work. They've helped double survival rates in the UK over the last 40 years, and there's still a lot of work to do. Every pound raised helps them get a bit closer to beating this terrible illness.
