Story
Many thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. After a 2-year hiatus due to the pandemic, I will be taking to my bike once again to tackle the 100 miles of RideLondon on Sunday 29 May 2022. This will be my fifth time cycling this event - each time to raise money for Breast Cancer Now - although this year's route will take us into the fresh challenges of Essex rather than Surrey.
As previously, I am supporting this charity primarily in loving memory of my dear wife Trish, who took on the challenge of Breast Cancer with incredible determination over 14 years of ups and downs until passing away in 2015. Her life was tragically cut short, and I want to continue to respect her challenge through this fundraising, in order to assist others in similar situations. The research that is funded by Breast Cancer Now, and the resulting medical advances, continue to improve the treatments and life-experiences for cancer patients into the future. Trish's experiences were testament to the enhanced treatments that became available during her illness, alongside her amazing willpower.
As time goes on, of course, we all seem to have more of these stories to reflect on. More people are being affected by this or other cancers, many of them close to us - most recently my own mother - so the need for proper funding of research and treatment is ever more important. Whether in Trish's memory of for others known to you, please sponsor me for this event - I really appreciate your support and thank you for any donations.
