Story
Hi
Sunday 18th April down in Brighton went really well. I am pleased to say that I completed the inaugural Brighton Marathon in 4 hours and 17 minutes. 7,589 competitors crossed the start line, 7,437 finished and I came in at 3,432, a bit off the pace. However, it was a nice sunny morning and a great atmosphere down there, but it did get pretty hot later on and I caught the sun.
I want to say thank you to everyone for your support and donations. Thanks especially to Gavin for setting a good race pace and for helping me to fight through the killer last few miles. Also to my parents for coming down to Brighton and for showing their support, cheers guys.
This page will remain up and running until the 18th of July 2010. If you haven't already, please consider making a donation to Oxfam, however big or small it all helps. Oxfam is a global charity dedicated to helping people fight poverty. Oxfam is always on hand to do what they do best, to provide aid relief to those in need and help those who can’t help themselves. With the recent earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, Oxfam has been involved to provide their much needed help and support as always.
To donate is simple, fast and secure. JustGiving will send your money directly to Oxfam and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation made by UK taxpayers. So please don’t be shy, dig deep and donate big, to help me reach my target! Thanks again for your kind support and donation. James
