**UPDATE II**
As of run 3/12, you beautiful people have raised £650, smashing my original target of £600. So with 9 runs (and 150+ miles) to go, I've decided to increase the fundraising target to £900. I'll keep updating my progress on Insta and every, single, penny, helps so much <3 Love, James xx
**UPDATE**
Corona postponed the Brighton Marathon and forced schools to shut their doors, which meant that I didn't get the opportunity to don my Palace socks and running along Brighton seafront & hundreds of thousands of young people are having to home school.
With schools closed, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are much more at risk of falling behind than their peers. The problem is compounded by the reality that many disadvantaged young people don't have access to outdoor spaces at home to play and exercise.
FBB have stepped up and created the FBB Virtual School; providing weekly academic coaching, 1-1 therapeutic support and creative projects for over 350 young people. To help keep it running over the summer they need to raise £20,000.
To up the stakes and smash the £600 target, between now and the 12th July (when the Euro 2020 final should’ve taken place) I’m going to be running to and from every pro football team in London. That’s 220+ miles over 12 (non-consecutive!) days. The distances are below (there’s 5, 18+ milers…).
The dates are TBC but I’ll wack them up here when I know. If I’m running past your area, come join!
4.5 miles: Millwall
8 miles: Charlton Athletic
14 miles: Crystal Palace
13 miles: West Ham
15.5 miles: Leyton Orient
18 miles: Chelsea
18 miles: Arsenal
21 miles: Fulham
26.8 miles: QPR
23 miles: Tottenham
26 miles: AFC Wimbledon
27 miles: Brentford
**UPDATE FINISHED**
I'm running the Brighton Marathon on the 19th April 2020 for Football Beyond Borders, an amazing charity who use the power of football to support disadvantaged young people in the UK. Their focus is on young people who are disengaged at school, re-engaging them through their passion for football and helping them finish school with the skills and grades to make the transition into adulthood.
With FBB's origins in South London, they're also a local charity for many of us. As the marathon is in Brighton, I might have a Palace-related surprise up my sleeve too ;)
All donations of any size are massively welcome.
Peace xx
