Bucharest City Marathon · 17 October 2010

Hospices of Hope work to improve the quality of life for terminally ill children and adults in Romania and surrounding countries through increased provision and access to hospice care services and training.

Story

I ran 21km in the Bucharest City Marathon on the 17th October. I left it a bit late to tell my friends about sponsoring me because I didnt' know if I'd be well enough to run until the night before. Thankfully my cold cleared up so I was able to do the half maratyhon. I was just inside my target of 2 hours.

I was inspired by a patient who has become a friend. He is a few years older than me, and has an amazingly positive outlook on life despite his MS. He is now paralysed from the neck down, but still speaks 4 languages and has a great sense of humour. He depends very much on the doctor, nurses and volunteers that the Hospice send.

So please dig deep and donate now so we can help hundreds of others like him.

Thanks, James
