Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon taking place on the 10/10/10 on behalf of World Child Cancer.

World Child Cancer works in low to middle income countries to save the lives of children with cancer and reduce their suffering. Every year approximately 250,000 children and teenagers are diagnosed with cancer around the world. In developed countries children have a 75% of survival, however, less than 20% of children in low income countries survive.

Childhood cancer is a curable disease yet 100,000 children die needlessly every year because of lack of treatment - most without any form of pain relief.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. It’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

In helping me reach my target of £500 you could for example, be funding a specialist nurse in Malawi for one year, so you can see how raising just a small amount can make a significant difference to a childs life.

So please dig deep and donate now (most of your aren't students anymore so no excuses!)

In low- and middle-income countries fewer than 1 in 10 children with cancer are diagnosed, treated or given pain relief. World Child Cancer improves cancer care for some of the world’s poorest children by creating international twinning partnerships between medics hospitals and parent support groups
