Story
The challenge is simple but brutal:
Pick a hill. Cycle up and down it repeatedly until you've climbed the height of Everest (8,848m). In one day. Stopping to eat is ok but no sleeping allowed. By comparison, the hardest Tour de France climbing stage this year is a mere 4,700m…
We've picked Peaslows hill in the Peak District which is ~1.4km long and averages a 10% gradient. We'll have to climb it 68 times to make the required height!
I did Land's End to John 'o' Groats last year and that was a walk in the park compared to what I expect this to be! Hopefully it will 'only' take about 18 hours... Please consider a donation to Warrington hospital charity to help spur me on through the saddle sores!!!
