Most of my friends are aware that my eldest son was officially diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome (or high functioning autism) in 2014. It's something I am still trying to learn more about so his mum and I can support him in the best way possible.
The National Autistic Society offer many things to those with all forms of Autism and do outstanding work. I've learned a lot just from reading some of the information they publish but I know they do so much more for those with more severe symptoms and they need financial support in order to keep supporting people with autism and for their families too.
I did London to Brighton in 2014 but was fundraising for a different charity before his diagnosis. I'm doing it again this year and this time my Dad is coming along for the ride as well but it won't stop there for me........at least I hope not as I plan to use it as training ready to take on London to Paris in 2016.
Autism isn't a disease or a condition, it just makes people that little bit different and I don't mean that negatively. It makes them unique...........special!
This is for two special young men, my son Jack and my friends son Jake.
If you can spare a pound or few, please consider adding to the pot as every little counts. I haven't set a huge target on this one but I'll be asking everyone to dig deep for London to Paris, which will also be for NAS.
