Bupa Great Birmingham Run · 21 October 2012 ·
So, I started running earlier in August with my housemates, mainly to keep fit - our initial goal was to run 10k and soon enough we find ourselves putting our names down for the Birmingham half marathon.
The charity that I am running for means a lot to me - the National Autistic Society.
The National Autisic Society is the UK's leading charity for people affected by autism. Autism is a serious, lifelong and disabling condition. Without the right support, it can have a profound - sometimes devistating effect on individuals and families. There is no cure for autism and no-one really understands how it happens.
My sister (now 22 years old) was diagnosed with Autism when she was 2. The National Autistic Society has helped my family tremendously over the years - by providing my parents with the means to seek out carers, schooling and residential care for my sister. By running the Birmingham Half marathon, I hope to help the National Autisic Society so that they can continue to do an outstanding job in supporting those affected by autism.
Thanks a lot for taking your time to visit my page, anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated and will allow this great charity to continue helping families and individuals...and if you're a UK taxpayer remember to Gift Aid it to increase your donation at no extra cost to you!
Thanks!
