Story
Hi Everyone!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving
page. On Sunday August 2nd I am planning on suffering through the London Triathlon in order to raise money for UNICEF. I am doing the Olympic distance which is swimming - 1mile (1.5km), bike 25 mi (40km), run 6.2 mi (10km).
The mad idea to run the
London Tri was hatched in a country pub over serveral pints and a large
roast dinner last October. Now about a stone lighter (that's 14 lbs or approx. 7kg for you non-Brits.)
and hopefully much fitter I am ready to go. I have run two sprint Tri's
this summer but this one is double the distance. My goal is to come
in under 3 hours as well as beat my mates Dan and Ant. Needless to say,
Angie and the kids will be glad when it is all over.
UNICEF money raised at the Triathlon will go to help orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV and AIDS. Your help can make a positive difference;
£12 could buy an ‘Art-in-a-box’ supplied to orphans and vulnerable children at special centre’s where these children can meet others, interact and have fun.
£14 could help UNICEF identify a child in or who has been orphaned by AIDS and provide him/her with basic health care, proper nutrition, school uniform and supplies, as well as psychosocial support during times of distress.
£50 could help five children orphaned by AIDS to receive support to cope with daily life on their own and have UNICEF’s help in overcoming the trauma of losing a parent.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
