Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
Following the loss of my nephew I have been searching for a challenge to raise money. Being a cyclist who cyclists miles and miles every week I thought a cycling challenge would be far too easy however long I made it.
Therefore, I thought about what sports I really do not like and which my body disagrees with. Naturally, at the top were swimming and running, so, I started to think about what challenges I could do which encompasses all three.
Rather than picking a half-way house option I have decided to go all out and enter an Ironman and not just any ironman but one with 2900m of climbing
I sit here currently with a broken left foot and a right knee that is 1-week post operation, but hey I have 4 months to get to the finish line so nothing can stop me.
Jokes apart I’m doing this for my sister and sister-in-law who lost their beautiful baby boy Zachary following serious complications during birth. I want to make them and Zac proud whilst raising some money for a charity who without I do not think my sisters would be as strong as they are now. I couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved, and I know Zac would have been so lucky to have them as his mums.
Hopefully when I cross the line 4 months today I’ll make the little man proud and his parents proud and I’m sure he will be watching down on me the whole way.
Before I finish, Zac was alive for 12 hours, so I have naturally decided another challenge is needed one where I complete the 3.9km swim, 180km bike and a marathon in 12 hours,, so I’ll give it everything to do this. Injuries and the hilly bike course are trying to get in the way but I’ll give it everything for the little man. .
Please sponsor me to help support an amazing charity: Sands, who have provided endless support to Clare, Libs and so many others who never expected to be directly affected by baby loss.
