My story is simple, I miss my Mum dearly!
My Mum had a seizure on the 24th December 2015 and passed away January 16th 2016. It was the quickest, longest, worst period of our lives to watch this incredible woman suffer for those 23 days. She had always been the strongest person I knew, often bragging about beating up the boys in school! It didn't feel like my Mum I always knew in those last few days.
When the doctor told us that my Mum had a Glioblastoma multiforme, we did what everyone would do and we googled it. There was simply not enough time to try and find a place/person who could cure what my Mum had, which I still find crazy to think. The Brain Tumour Charity are at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours, making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families. They fund pioneering research to increase survival, raise awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours and provide support for everyone affected to improve quality of life. It was unfortunately too late for my Mum but I am determined to make a difference to someone in the future by helping this great cause.
It's incredibly hard to put into words what 'my story' is. Fact is I miss her so much and honestly, still can't quite believe what has happened, nearly three years later.
Thank you for your support, it means so much to me. I'd like to thank the brain tumour charity for giving me the opportunity to think about my Mum for 26 mIles in April (and all the miles in training!)
