As you may or not know my and Brendon's Mum, Noreen, was in hospital for the best part of a year with a condition that doctors really struggled to diagnose.

It started in July 2018 with Mum suffering some confusion and then a seizure, it led to her being rushed to hospital and then stays in 3 hospitals with lots of instrusive scans, spinal puntures and a plasma exchange. During a lot of the time the doctors were unable to diagnose the problem which caused long periods of muteness, her not being able to feed or drink and having little interest in anything. All of this is much unlike Mum. An expert came down from Scotland to diagnose her and wrong said she had CJD and planned to put her into a care home for the rest of her life.

Thankfully however, we researched and with the help of the Encephalitis Society; who provided us with lots of information and advice, which we passed on to the doctors. She was eventually diagnosed with Autoimmune Encephalitis (inflammation of the brain). Now, unbelievably, she has made an amazing recovery and is back at home!

We now want to give something back to the charity that helped us and supports those and their families that are suffering with encephalitis. We aim to complete a challenge which is something different. We have decided to try and walk the oldest known road in the UK and possibly Europe which travels between Wiltshire and Buckinghamshire. We want to try and do this within two days. The road dates back to Roman times.

Lee and Tom have kindly agreed to do this with us and we four Aston Villa fans want to get this walk done in 2 days which most people who do it do in 5 or 6.

If you can spare a few pounds for our 87 mile (140km) adventure we would really appreciate this. For those that count their steps it looks like we will be doing 174,000 over two days.
