Story
I am James Fuller 36, from Norwich. I work in the energy sector Offshore. I've recently joined a local running club, The Great Yarmouth Road Runners. A fantastic club who welcomes all to join, including my brother, Kevin, who is an established member and solid training partner. When I am not running on the roads, if at work, I'll be using the treadmill after shift.
My plan is to dedicate my time on training hard for the race in April, averaging 30 miles per week, with my main focus on raising much need money for Leonard Cheshire. My sister, Katrina 34, who is a resident, and she has enjoyed 7 happy years and will remain a resident throughout her life. Katrina is disabled and has a very rare genetic disorder that means she needs; 24 hours support and care. This comes at a cost, but it is worth it, when you see her laughing, smiling, learning and being happy, it's lovely to see. I know that her friends at home will benefit from any money we can raise and make their futures a little brighter.
A note from the charity - "We are Leonard Cheshire - supporting individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability. Led by people with experience of disability, we are at the heart of local life - opening doors to opportunity, choice and support in communities around the globe. Leading by example, we do everything humanly possible to empower people to live their lives a freely and as fully as they choose."
