Story

Hey

I'm 17 and this year I'm running the Leeds half marathon for the first time. It will only be my third ever race, and my first half marathon, it started off as a challenge but I soon realised that it could be more than that, that I could use it to do some fundraising and aid a cause close to my heart - so here we are!

I chose Help for Heroes for a number of reasons but primarily because of the fact I'm a Barnsley fan, whats the connection you ask? Well, I became increasingly sickened at the amount of times we had a minutes silence before games, or a minutes applause, because another Yorkshire soldier, or in last years tragic case, soldiers, had been killed. Obviously it isn't just limited to Yorkshire either, and despite the end of war approaching the injured soldiers and their families still need our support, so please give generously and don't forget the sacrifice that these men and women have made for us

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you very much

James
