Story

Thanks very much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Some of you will be aware that on the 15th May 2011 I will be running the Shell Chester half marathon (13.11 miles!). If you're interested, the route I will be running is available for viewing via:

http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/2829503.

I have been training for this run for the last few months and I can't say it has been easy. The training consisted of one big 7-10 mile run along with one/two lighter 3-6 mile runs per week......in addition to footy and the gym! I'm aiming to run the race in under 2 hours (preferably under 1hr 50 minutes) but if I can even finish the race in one piece in a reasonable time i will be happy!

The charity I have chosen to run for is Macmillan Cancer Support. Although I have left it pretty late in the day (2 weeks until the half marathon) to raise some money for charity I guess it's better late than never!

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. In one way or another we are all likely to be affected by this terrible disease during our lifetime. As treatments are now improving, more and more people are now living with cancer in their daily lives. This means they need more than medical help, they also need practical, emotional and financial support. Macmillan offer a source of support, helping with all of the things that people affected by cancer want and need. For more information on Macmillan Cancer Support please go to:

The method of donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

If you are able to help me raise some money for Macmillan Cancer Support then please donate through my Justgiving page. Every little helps and it would be great if I could raise £150.

Many thanks in advance of your much appreciated kind donations.

Jay

Special Note

Because there is a character limit on the comments you can make below I was unable to list and give apt  mention to all my fantastic family and friends who gave cash donations . All these people deserve a mention so please see below for names and recognition:

Mum & Dad: £30

Sister Sophie: £10

Geoff, Roxanne and Hayden: £20

Jenny and Marc: £20

Phil and Lyn: £10

Lyn's fantastic family: £50 (Linda, Griff & Rhys £10; Donna, Lewis & Paige £5; Pam and Richie £10; Griff and Lois £10; Cathy, Les, Carl & Rachel £10; Nanna Louie £5)

These cash donations, along with all of the very kind and very generous donations made direct to this website, I have well and truly surpassed my orginal £150 target. I am sure you will all agree that the money raised it goes to an extremely good cause!!

!!  A VERY BIG THANKS THANKS AGAIN TO ALL  !!
