Story
Hello and thank you for reading this.
It has been a personal target to run a marathon for some time but I needed a kick to do it. There are 100's of incredible charities we all support through help or donation however I needed a personal reason to get me off the sofa and away from the beer fridge.
In 1991 my dad committed suicide and my mum found him in our garage at home, I was 17 and my sister 13... To say it was the worst experience of our lives doesn't do the shared distress and pain any justice at all. My mum was left with the haunting image for a life time and we just had to get on with our lives without any emotional support; it just wasn't available.
Personally, I found it extremely difficult to understand how I should feel and act which resulted in a pretty tough time through my late teens and twenties. This could have been avoided with the support of a charity such as CB UK.
The work CB UK do to support individuals and families is unbelievable so I will go through 6 months of pain/beer avoidance and your donation will help enormously.
Here are a few words from CB UK.
Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. We support children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying. We provide training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families. We offer free, confidential bereavement support by telephone, video or instant messenger, as well as face to face from a number of locations across the UK.
Thank you so much
James
