Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our just giving page!!

We're supporting the Bronglais Chemo Appeal by taking on the Welsh 3 Peaks on 10th of September 2022!

In October 2020, at just 28 years old, my brother Rhys Davies found a lump whilst out riding his mountain bike. Just a month later in November 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, he was diagnosed with stage 2 testicular cancer . Rhys went on to receive vital anti-cancer treatment at the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Bronglais General Hospital.

The care provided at the Chemotherapy Day Unit is excellent and in Rhys' own words, he 'wouldn't want to go anywhere else'. The physical environment of the unit however, was not designed for the purpose of delivering anti-cancer treatment. There is limited space and privacy and a lack of facilities for patients and staff.

We have decided to fundraise for the Bronglais Chemo Appeal to help provide a local, purpose-built unit for the people of mid Wales. Rhys never thought it would happen to him or that he would ever need chemotherapy at such a young age, but the stark and unfortunate reality is that 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives.

We can't wait to take on this challenge as a team, it will be tough but we are determined to complete it and raise as much money as we can for the Bronglais Chemo Appeal in the process.

Please sponsor us and help this amazing cause 🙂
