Story
Hello Everyone
Over the next few weeks and months, I’m going to collect (and dispose of) 100 bags of litter from the streets, footpaths and parks of Chester. So you can look forward to seeing me wandering around with a litter picker and a bin bag! But why?
Al (Alex) and Ilm (Ilmarie) Braun and their boys are good friends of ours. Their youngest son Eddie, is a jolly little chap who has a rare genetic condition which caused him to have a pre natal stroke leaving him with a severe brain injury. Consequently Eddie has various neurological conditions including cerebral palsy, intractable epilepsy, global developmental delay and he is registered as blind.
To give Eddie the best chance to develop to his full potential, Al and Ilm take him to privately funded physiotherapy, riding therapy and hydrotherapy sessions. In addition to this considerable cost, Eddie will soon need a new mobility vehicle to get to his sessions, and to his new school. Once the vehicle is purchased, it will then need to be adapted with a ramp, clamps, seats removed etc. so he can either be transported in his chair, or for an adapted seat with an inbuilt hoist if he gets to a point he can stand a little.
This is another significant cost for the family and I would like - with your support - to help cover the cost.
I think it will take me a number of weeks (months?) to fill all
100 bags, but I expect Chester to be sparkling by the end. Thank you for giving generously, and do think of me on cold, wet, winter days!
Anybody who gives £50 or more, can suggest an area that needs picking and I'll get on to it!
