Marlyn Boal Decorative Star in Memory

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
My mum, Marlyn Boal, was cared for by Marie Curie Hospice in Belfast at the start of 2020. Marie Curie were so thoughtful and attentive to my mum during her stay with them, and ensured that, at a time where living with a terminal illness could be incredibly isolating, that she was surrounded where possible by those who loved her.
Our family have such heart warming stories of my mum's time with Marie Curie. Mum was the brightest light in all of our lives, and very much continues to be so.
We know however, that the festive season can be tinged with darkness for families affected by terminal illness.
That's why, on Tuesday 21 December, Marie Curie will Light Up the Night, turning the shortest day into the brightest night to remember loved ones lost.
For Light Up the Night, we are hoping to raise £100 to dedicate a decorative star in celebration of my mum, along with many other families affected by terminal illness. Not only will this light up the night literally, with a poignant and beautiful light display at the Marie Curie Hospice, Belfast... but all the money we raise will help Marie Curie bring light to the darkest hours of families affected by terminal illness across Northern Ireland.
Here is an interview mum gave while in Marie Curie - https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/blog/how-one-mother-and-daughter-are-spending-lockdown-in-the-same-hospice-bedroom/274758
It would mean the world to us to have this little star lighting up the hospice that cared so amazingly for our mum, while raising invaluable funds for a very worthy cause. Thank you.
