We had a great time on Sunday, but I have to admit I was a little creaky on Monday! We started out in a group of 10 but pretty soon a small group of us pulled away and picked up the pace. I had a hell of a job keeping up with London Marathon runner Jack, but I was on the Colnago so no excuses! It was very windy with lots of pollen blowing in our eyes, and the wind seemed to be against us the whole way, meaning we had to cycle twice as hard - the killer was Richmond Park. But we did it in record time - just over 3hrs. Thanks a again for your very generous donations - and we are proud to have been able to exceed our target - all thanks to your generosity. Very much appreciated :-)

This is our 5th Thames Bridges Bike ride, and we'll saddling up once again in support of the Stroke Association by riding 33 miles over 13 London bridges.

The action starts on Sunday 22nd May, and this year we're part of a big group of friends including Peter & Helen, John & Simon, and Dave & Peter and we're all looking forward to the challenge.

Jack (who has just run the London Marathon) and I will be on our classic racing Colnago's and we'll be looking to set a blistering pace.

Our group will be aiming to start at around 9am at Southwark Park, and our first Thames crossing will be at Tower Bridge. We then have an amazing route that travels through town over the London, Southwark, Waterloo, Westminster, Lambeth, Chelsea and Battersea Bridges.

We'll be riding up to Putney Bridge, then over Barnes Bridge for a super ride along the picturesque tow-paths of the River Thames. We cross over again at Kew Bridge for a proper sprint through Richmond Park, whilst waving at the deers. They'll be another crossing at Kingston, and the final bridge is Hampton.

We finish at Hurst Park – just beyond Hampton Court, and by then we'll be gasping for a long ice-cold beer and a massage!

We hoping for good weather and a cool breeze, and we'll be spurred on by your generous support.

Very many thanks, Jack & James
