Story
In December 2014 one of my oldest friends Iain Twigg died after losing his fight against an aggressive brain tumour aged 33.
I lived with Iain at university, he was a one off. A genuine life force whose positive outlook rubbed off on everyone he met (even his more miserable housemate). Over the last year his friends have been raising money, largely through sporting endeavours, for the Brain Tumour charity. Despite being an unfit man, I have decided to join them and do a Twiggathlon.
Somewhat foolhardily, I have signed up to run a 10km, swim the Henley regatta course and cycle 400kms through Vietnam to Angkor Watt. If you felt able to sponsor my Twiggathlon that would be quality and you'd be giving money to a great cause. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer and survival rates remain poor compared to other cancers.
