Story
On 2 July, myself, friends and family will be cycling 66 miles from Bowling to Edinburgh, along the Forth & Clyde and Union canals, to raise money for Friends of Zetland Park, Grangemouth. The park is really important to the town, as it represents a sense of community spirit and gives the Portonians and visitors alike a beautiful green space in the middle of the town.
The Friends of Zetland Park were tasked to raise £25,000 with their application to benefit from a Heritage Lottery's Parks for People investment of £2.5M to refurbish areas of the park and restore original features. Any enhancements to the park can be enjoyed by children, older people, dog walkers, sportsmen and women, joggers, to name a few of those who use the park.
The team involved on the day is made up of myself, my daughter Lisa, grandson Calvin and friends, Karen Farrell, Sandy Muir, Jack Miller, Don Jackman, Georgina Bird, Robert Craig, Murray Ford, Scott McAngus and Helen Sedgewick.
Please feel free to donate £1, £2 or anything you wish, it is all greatly appreciated by the team and will help us along the way on the day.
Thanks for your support!!
