I'm taking part in Swimathon 2019 for Marie Curie & Cancer Research UK

Swimathon 2019 · 29 March 2019 to 31 March 2019 ·
On the 31st of March 2019, myself and an amazing team of swimmers will be taking to the Olympic pool at the Stratford Aquatics Centre, where we will swim 5 Kilometres, or 100 laps. I won't be waking up at 8:30 in the morning just to reclaim the glory of my former long distance swimming career (as pictured above), instead, I am raising money for two incredible charities, Marie Curie and Cancer Research UK. As I'm sure many of you know, both of these organisations are invaluable to thousands of individuals and families across the United Kingdom. For example, Marie Curie provides over 21,000 families with relief by funding nurses that give 24-hour care to people suffering from any terminal illness, whilst Cancer Research UK's work over the last 2 years has resulted in the identification and successful treatment of over 200,000 cases of cancer. Both of these institutions, that are pivotal to the lives of so many, operate entirely without any Governmental funding. I appreciate that many of my friends will not have much to give, but anything you can spare could go an extremely long way. £6 (or the price of 2 Tesco meal deals) could provide some of the chemicals for a cancer research laboratory, whilst £15 is an entire day's treatment for a lung-cancer patient. I cherish any donations as everything you give will go towards two fantastic causes, both of which can really change lives.
Thank you everyone,
James x
