Story
This will be the third time that I am taking part in Tough Mudder - and it is not because I love the gruelling course, getting soaking wet and freezing, clambering over, through and under the many obstacles, with the occasional injury (okay, maybe I do enjoy it a little bit).
But it is also because of the fact that Tough Mudder partners with Help for Heroes, a charity that does some fantastic work with people who have given through their service in the armed forces.
I have also been inspired by seeing those very people who H4H try to help take part in Tough Mudder - people who are living with life changing injuries, but still getting out there, pushing themselves, and raising money to help others who also need it.
GE also partners with H4H - they do some great work raising money for H4H; in particular they are aiming to raise £350K towards a Wellbeing Suite at the Catterick Recovery Centre.
I have managed to talk four of my colleagues at GE into taking part - between us we want to raise a minimum of £750. We will be taking part in a number of fundraising activities leading up to the run, finishing with the punishing 12 mile run in August.
