Story
On 2 July 2012 our family lost John Sullivan (our Dad) to Pancreatic Cancer. After diagnosis, we had just two months left together. Sadly this story is an extremely common tale with victims of this type of cancer.
The reason for this is that Pancreatic Cancer is often not found in a person until it is too late! Symptoms do not appear until the cancer has spread to other organs. Research is still on going into the actual cause and ways in which it can be detected sooner. Our dad was diabetic and they still do not know if there is any link between the two.
To give you an idea of the bleak prognosis of pancreatic cancer sufferers, statistics published in 2014 (struggling to find any more recent) reveal that year there were 9618 diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and 8817 deaths.
Any money donated to this page will go to such a good cause, as hopefully there will soon be some answers to this terrible disease!
We will be running our socks off around London and hope to, through your support, raise an admirable amount of money for this charity which is very close to our family's heart.
