Me, Mazhar and Aftab are taking the 15 mile challenge for Water. Please dig deep and contribute towards this cause, beacuse remeber waht would you do without water
As we sit here complaining about flooding caused by stormy weather or a temporary loss of water supplies when we turn on the taps, it’s worth remembering this: the water we drink is clean, easily accessible and will not kill us.
That’s not the case for millions of people around the world who do not have the luxury of turning a tap and filling their glasses before quenching any thirst they feel. For too many, getting this most essential of life’s resources often means lengthy journeys with associated risks. Water may be in short supply. And even if obtainable, it may be a potential killer, harbouring disease and bacteria that can lead to death. More than 3 million die each year from a water-related disease.
On Sunday November 17, as part of our Challenge Poverty campaign, Islamic Help is staging Walk 4 Water, a 15-mile stroll through London taking in some of the UK capital’s landmarks. Registration is just £5 and we’d like you to raise at least £120 in sponsorship to aid our water projects around the world. It might seem a drop in the ocean, but it could help save a life.
