Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My 7 year old cousin Grace Tennant was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes just before her 6th birthday. This means that she has to monitor her blood sugars throughout the day, and her mum and dad have to make sure she has the right amount of insulin for the food she eats which she gets via injections. If she doesn't she could die.
My cousin is very very brave but she cannot snack or eat sweets or treats whenever she wants, which is something I and many others take for granted. Each mouthful has to be accounted for and monitoring her health takes up a lot of time. I want to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund because they concentrate on trying to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes which would mean my cousin would not have to worry about what she can eat.
If I reach my target of £200 or more I will be allowing my headmaster, Mr Cruickshank of Begbrook Primary Academy, Bristol to shave my head during assembly. He has had practice as he shaved another boy's head a couple of years ago and the boy survived so I am confident I will be left with my ears intact but I hate haircuts which is why my hair is so long. My mum has said she will cry as I have always had long hair but I told her it will grow back.......eventually.
Please help me raise money for this great charity which helps my cousin mange her diabetes.
