This September, me and my daughter are taking part in Birmingham's Memory Walk at Cannon Hill Park to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.

The charity has been a great help to me through mine and my family's journey through dementia after my mum was diagnosed back in February 2014.

It is not until one of your loved ones is affected that you truly realise what an awfully cruel disease dementia is.

Please dig deep and help the Alzheimer's Society continue their great work supporting families but also in trying to find treatments - and hopefully one day - a cure.
