Story
This year I will be taking on a number of challenges and events to raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer. I will hosting numerous events throughout the year and taking on different challenges that will all lead to my target goal of £2170 to be able to take on my Alps Challenge! 3 days of solid hiking covering 30 miles and 3 countries! 🧗♀️
Keep an eye out for all my challenges. One being the Birmingham Half Marathon!
Below is how your donations can help:
£22
could help pay for a Young Lives vs Cancer Big Bag. Young
Lives vs Cancer Big Bags are given to families when their child is first
diagnosed with cancer. They contain essential items for a hospital stay such as
toiletries, a teddy, a thermal mug, Young Lives vs Cancer information booklets
and much more. The bags help parents prepare for when their child begins
treatment and they’re travelling to and from hospital a lot.
£26
could pay for an hour of a Young Lives vs Cancer Social Worker’s time. They
will aim to speak with children and young people with cancer, and their
families, soon after diagnosis and help them to understand and cope with the
emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer, through treatment and
beyond.
£38 could
pay for a family to stay overnight in one of Young Lives vs Cancer’s Homes from
Home, providing free self-catering accommodation near to specialist children’s
cancer treatment centres, which are often many miles from a family’s own home.
Head to our website to find out more about our homes from home – you can even
take a virtual tour of one of our properties online.
£100
could pay for a Young Lives vs Cancer grant. Cancer can have a huge effect on a
family’s finances and a Young Lives vs Cancer grant is offered to children and
young people with cancer, and their families, as soon as they come into contact
with us to help meet the sudden extra costs that a cancer diagnosis can bring
