Story

The Deed is done and we are now recovering from a fantastic finish in just under 18 HOURS

You can still donate if you wish as this site will stay open for another month or so.

Many thanks to everybody in helping us raise over £2500 PLUS more than £500 in 'Gift Aid' (from all you taxpayers willing to give your full address)

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Our Charity is Maggie's Centres, details left. Please dig deep and sponsor us online. Paul and I work together at Strathclyde Uni, and Paul came up with this bright idea that he and I should do this organised event called Maggie's Monster Bike and Hike. to raise funds for this fantastic charity.

Our team name is "Kings of Leon" after a great wee band...

Hundreds take part in this annual fundraiser which is on 5th May this year.

This event covers 'The Great Glen Way', from Fort William to Inverness in under 24hrs. The first 30 miles are on mountain bikes along towpaths and forest tracks and the next 43 miles on shanks' pony. It should be a nice day/night out with beautiful scenery, Loch Ness etc, to look at which should distract us from our aches and pains.

First of all I will have to dust down the old bike and lose some of my excess midriff by doing some serious workouts. Paul already cycles regularly so reckons the hike will be the hard bit, 43 miles? nae bother!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Maggie's Centres will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

If you don't want to donate online, cash is ok or cheques (made out to Maggie's Centres) no matter how big or small, every single penny counts. We will enter this money onto webpage as money raised offline.

Many thanks for your support.
