Story
"Of course I'll run a marathon in my lifetime" is what I assumed as a child, but until a few years ago I hadn't even attempted a parkrun (5km).
After completing my first parkrun I had a new appreciation for the challenge that is marathon running.
I have decided to take on this challenge and in doing so hope to raise money to fund research into dementia, to find better treatments, achieve earlier diagnosis and one day a cure.
After seeing the impact of dementia on my family this cause has become very close to my heart, so I hope to raise as much money as possible. Every pound donated would be hugely appreciated!
Dementia research remains troublingly underfunded, despite Alzheimer's and other types of dementia being the number one killer in the UK.
BRACE funds world class clinical and laboratory research into dementia to find better treatments, achieve earlier diagnosis and one day, a cure.
BRACE has funded dementia research since 1987 and in the last 30 plus years it has raised millions of pounds to invest in multidisciplinary research covering all aspects of dementia.
Some of BRACE’s major achievements are noted here: https://www.alzheimers-brace.org/achievements-and-impact/
The whole human race can benefit from this research – anyone, anywhere who might one day develop dementia, as well as their family members who would otherwise witness its heartbreaking impact on their loved one.
I hope I can count on your support!
