Great North Run 2022 · 11 September 2022 ·

COVID-19 has decimated our income and left us unable to expand our services to help those who need us. We want everyone with SMS to have the chance of a fulfilling future. We want to raise £50,000 to meet the needs of all SMS families in the UK.

Story

On the 11th September 2022 I’ve decided to take part in the Great North Run to help raise money for the Smith Magenis Syndrome Foundation Uk.

My nephew Reign was born with the disability which is challenging every day. I want to raise as much money as possible to help grow the resources needed for this condition.

Smith magenis syndrome is estimated to be found 1 in 25,000 people  but only 300 individuals identified in the U.K so far. It is a complex disability and each  individual will exhibit different aspects of the characteristics and so each family will develop their own ‘coping’ strategies.

So I have decided to support the foundation in their mission to give everyone with Smith Magenis Syndrome the chance of fulfilling a brighter future.
