CHUF's mission is to make life better for children and young people who are born with or who develop heart conditions by providing lifelong support to them and their families. CHUF supports children and families who receive treatment at the Children’s Heart Unit based at the Freeman Hospital and the many other hospitals providing care for cardiac patients throughout the North of England.

Our baby boy ‘Finley Jake Featherstone’ has had two open heart surgeries and two cardiac arrests within his first 4 weeks of his life. However as Finley gets bigger the valves that have been created will eventually need replacing which means he will need further open heart surgeries in his lifetime.

Chuf has been a massive support for myself, Ashleigh and Finley’s heart journey, Chuf raises vital funds for large and small pieces of equipment, facilities, aftercare, salaries and research. The equipment that Chuf helped provide, has saved Finley’s life. Whilst our stay in the Freeman Hospital, Chuf provided support with parking and meal tokens.

This is our way of saying a huge heart felt thank you by completing The Great North Run with CHUF raising money for such a close charity to our hearts and helping all the heart heroes out there, THIS IS A FANTASTIC CHARITY!
