Hello all, I’m doing the Great North Run this year (I know) to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer. We lost a close family friend this year to cancer at just 14 years of age and I wanted to raise money for a charity that helps out families in a similar position to Sarah’s. The £350 target I’ve set could help pay for 9 families to stay overnight in one of YLvsCancer’s Home from Home’s. These are close to principal treatment centres so it helps families avoid stuff like the extra financial burdens of travel, accommodation and food costs etc when they’re going through this time. They also allow young cancer patients to be close to their loved ones, keeping the family together.
