Bromley Brighter Beginnings provides beds to vulnerable and disadvantaged children across the Borough of Bromley. To continue providing this service we need the help and support of generous donors and the local community.

Story

Each year the girls at JAGs Pre-Prep choose a charity to receive the money raised at events run throughout the year by the parents' association. This is to help the girls understand the advantages they have and contribute to the wider community.

This year the girls have voted to support the ‘A Bed for Every Child' campaign run by Bromley Brighter Beginnings. 20% of children in Bromley live in poverty, sadly many children are without beds which means sleeping on the floor, a sofa or sharing a bed.

Making sure that a child has a bed of their own is so important for children’s physical and emotional wellbeing. It also means that they get a better night’s sleep leading to better concentration at school and ability to access learning. Each bed costs nearly £300 and provides storage for a child’s belonging and bed linen.
