Fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK
I’m writing this on behalf of Jag as he’s not very good with words or articulating what he wants to say.. well, not without swearing anyway 🙄
So he’s left the writing to me, the wife. I’m not going to lie, his motivation to run the marathon has been admirable.. having been inspired by his sister in law (Maneh) who ran it in 2022.. soaking in the atmosphere of the whole day, he told me ‘I could do this!’ And that’s where it all started. But as most of you may be aware, he’s a cocky so and so, so obviously his thoughts then went to, ‘I wonder if I’ll beat my brothers/your sisters time’ But, his heart’s in the right place.
I have no doubt that he will complete it. And I can’t wait for him to feel the sense of achievement when the donations come in and when he crosses the finish line. But I’m already proud of his desire to want to do something good and the sense of accomplishment of setting himself a challenge that may help one person, and/or impact a greater cause. And for that reason, I am humbled that he decided to run for Bowel Cancer UK in memory of my sister, his sister in law, Sharan. Sharan died at the age of 34, 4 weeks after diagnosis, and left behind 2 kids under the age of 3.
So as annoying and cocky as he is, give him a sponsor in aid of a good cause. Why not even challenge him to a time to complete it in and give the little shit a proper challenge as he already calls himself an athlete 🏃🏻💚
