My dad is someone that loves to live life to the full. He absolutely loved working all day everyday for his two companies and on the weekend socialising with his friends and family as well as going up to Upton Park to watch West Ham for the past 35 years. Not to mention the incredible holidays we have experienced as a family. My dad has always appreciated and been thankful for his life.
However in March last year, our world collapsed when Dad was diagnosed with Bowell Cancer. The past year has been the hardest ever year for me and my family although Dad has been so positive throughout.
My dad has given it the biggest fight, I am so proud of how strong, brave and positive he is. It hasn't stopped him from still doing some amazing things, from going to Brazil with Connor for the World Cup to attending my Graduation.
However in the recent month, Dad has been very poorly and therefore been staying at the Michael Sobell hospice, Mount Vernon. This hospice, and the staff have been amazing, they have been able to make Dad comfortable with high quality care 24 hours a day.
This hospice provides care for people with life limiting illnesses, it's a special place where patients, family and friends can spend precious time together, where we all receive support from the lovely staff. It ensures that all patients are pain free and comfortable.
So, whilst my family and I are spending all our time possible with Dad, my wonderful Boss, Jemma, is doing the worlds largest assault course- Rat Race. She will be running 20 miles with 200 obstacles in her way. She is doing this for Dads chosen charity- Michael Sobell Hospice.
Any donations to this amazing place would be much appreciated to Dad and his loving family.
