Story
In March this year I was told the devastating news that my Grandma had passed away, me and my family had watched her slowly deteriorate as Dementia took hold of her, it is a devastating disease not only for her but for everyone who knew her and it was heartbreaking to see her become a shadow of herself. My Grandma was always the life and soul of a party and would do anything for anyone and I have so many fond memories of my Grandma before the disease took hold. I want to raise money to help fund care and support for anyone affected by Dementia.
Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year that's the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. Alzheimer's Society is the only UK charity that campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure and supports people living with dementia today. By taking part in Memory Walk and fundraising you are facing dementia head on and helping to achieve a world without dementia. Please dig deep and help us walk for a world without dementia. Together we will beat it.
